The 14th HCL International Bridge Championship will be held at New Delhi, from 19th October to 23rd October 2016, JW Marriott Hotel, New Delhi Aerocity. The championship will have the pleasure of announcing:

  • Naresh Tandan Trophy

    The 'Naresh Tandan Trophy' for the winners of Team of Four Gold event.

  • Mohini Tandan Trophy

    The 'Mohini Tandan Trophy' for the winners of Team of Four Silver event.

  • Neena Bonarji Trophy

    The 'Neena Bonarji Trophy' for the winners of Open Pairs event.

    Team of Four Silver Event is open to Indian Bridge players (participation of Foreign teams in this event is subject to clearance by Technical Committee).

    Event is a one day event for non-qualifiers of open pairs event. It will be played over two sessions of 24 Boards each.

The tournament format and time schedules are subject to change, before or during the championship, and at the discretion of the organizing committee. This decision will be taken in consultation with the Chief Tournament Director (CTD).

SYSTEM & IMPORTANT NOTES

The tournament will follow the WBF 2007 Laws of Duplicate Bridge as amended from time to time. The Applicable Supplemental Conditions of Contest shall be circulated before the start of the tournament.

WBF system policy shall be followed throughout the tournament. The Brown Sticker Conventions are not allowed in the Swiss League/Super League Stage of Team of Four Event and in Elimination Stage of Pairs events. The pairs employing Brown Sticker Conventions in the knock-out stage of Team Events must submit their convention with written defense to the CTD before the start of the last round of Swiss/Super League stage. Multi 2D is allowed, provided a written defense against the convention is provided to the opponents before the start of the round. Psyche of a conventional bid is not permitted at any stage of any event and Psyches are not permitted during Swiss/Super Leagues of Team of Four Silver Event & Elimination round of Open Pairs event.

Applicable Supplemental & Conditions of Contest

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Sponsor will have a quota of two Pairs, directly seeded to the Pairs Final.
  • Participating players are required to take their seats as per the program; failure to do so will result in penalty.
  • Displaying of properly filled convention cards at the table is compulsory. Copies of blank convention cards will be made available at the venue.
  • Players will be provided with lunch at the venue. Tea /coffee and snacks will be served during scheduled tea breaks.
  • Players are requested not to bring along their tea/coffee/cold drinks/lunch at the playing arena.

  • The organizing committee has the right to change the tournament schedule and format, if required.
  • Mobile phones are strictly prohibited in the playing area. Random search will be done.
